Owens Precision, Inc. utilizes the sophisticated technology of high speed CNC milling for the flexibility and superiority of its machining capabilities. The benefits of this process are readily apparent in the quality of the finished product. A CNC milling machine includes a number of tools with dedicated functions which are used one at a time to machine a metal blank. Each tool is programmed by the CNC operator to work in succession for optimal production efficiency. Our knowledgeable programmers will determine the most efficient routing of drilling, reaming, contour milling, etc. In addition, the careful selection of tool bits (i.e., cobalt, carbide, etc.) is essential to the quality and speed of production.

Our highly trained staff of technicians and operators have the experience to take your  project from prototype to full market requirements. Our quality system stringently follows guidelines of ISO 9001. Our CNC Milling department works hand in hand with our Quality Department to assure adherence to guidelines of ISO 9001. In addition to Owens Precision's CNC Milling Department, our capabilities include all other services necessary to complete your project: CNC turning, CNC swiss automatics, complete finishing services, assembly and packaging. Our Milling Department's CNC Turning Centers include 6 individual CNC vertical mills,  5 individual CNC vertical machining centers with pallets, and one Horizontal Machining Center. The largest capacity at this time is 21" Y axis and 41" X axis travel.

Owens Precision utilizes a variety of leading edge CAD/CAM platforms such as: Mastercam, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Esprit, which are capable of supporting multiple Axis simultaneous machining.

CNC milling is an advanced process that requires significant expertise for optimum efficiency. Owens Precision's highly experienced technicians can bring the full capabilities of CNC milling to any contract manufacturing project. Owens Precision uses CNC milling as a single or preliminary machining process to produce precision metal parts. CNC machining is versatile enough to provide an economical alternative to other, more costly machining methods. CNC machining is used in the machining of parts and components for the medical device, aerospace, commercial and automotive industries. CNC milling is especially appropriate for the machining of 3-dimensional contour metal parts.
